People living with diabetes are invited to take part in MIND-MAP, a national research study exploring the emotional wellbeing and mental health experiences of Australians living with diabetes.
The study aims to better understand how living with diabetes can affect emotional wellbeing and what types of mental health support may be helpful.
Who can take part?
You may be eligible if you:
- are 18 years or older
- live in Australia
- have type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, MODY or LADA
- do not have gestational diabetes as your only form of diabetes.
What does participation involve?
If you take part, you will be asked to complete four short online surveys over three years. The surveys can be completed from home and will ask about your experiences of living with diabetes, emotional wellbeing and related areas of your life.
By sharing your experiences over time, you can help researchers build a better understanding of the emotional and mental health needs of people living with diabetes.
People who complete all four surveys will also have the chance to win one of 20 $100 eGift cards.
Participation is voluntary. Information collected as part of the study is treated confidentially and reported in a way that does not identify individual participants.
Who is conducting the study?
MIND-MAP — the Mental health IN Diabetes – Monitoring AND Pathways Study — is led by the Australian Centre for Behavioural Research in Diabetes (ACBRD), a partnership between Deakin University and Diabetes Victoria.
The study is supported by the National Health and Medical Research Council and has received approval from the Deakin University Human Research Ethics Committee.
